Zixin’s practice explores mother–daughter relationships shaped by the pressures of Chinese patriarchal family life. Working across video and installation, she draws on autobiography, the female body, and fragmented domestic objects to examine how women are simultaneously empowered and victimised within the intertwined structures of family and gender.
